Leslie Jimenez is a trans-diciplinary artist, mother, and museum educator based Uptown NY. Leslie graduated from Parsons The New School for Design in NY, and Altos de Chavon School of Design in the Dominican Republic. Jimenez believes in the power or representation. Her work explores a wide range of subjects, including notions of standardized beauty and the complexity of formulated identities. She has delved into themes related to parenting as well as mental and personal health and the power of choice. Aiming at reversing narratives of established ideals about beauty, personal relationships, girlhood, womanhood and motherhood and their connection to social standards of expected behaviors. Leslie’s work have been shown in galleries, museums, art fairs and currently in the Uptown Triennial.
