We forge, enable and support street artist and merchant partnerships. When a merchant shows interest in joining the 100 Gates Project, we work diligently to pair them with one of our artists.

Merchants

1.

Own a business in the designated areas? Sign up to be one of our participating merchants, and we’ll show you a curation of participating artists in your area.

2.

You choose one whose style fits your vision.

3.

We facilitate an introduction, where you and the artist discuss ideas for the mural.

4.

We monitor the discussion to ensure both parties are happy and able to devise a concept that is neither advertisement, nor commissioned work.

5.

Once you approve a sketch of the art, we work with you and the artist to arrange times outside of operating hours to install the mural and we notify the NYPD.

6.

You have a brand new, beautiful mural – that has come at ZERO cost to you - and your storefront is now an installation in our ever-expanding outdoor street art gallery.

When it comes to the murals, the style and content are up to you and the artist—but it can’t serve as an advertisement for your business.

Artists

1.

Join our roster of artists, and we’ll work on pairing you with a merchant in your designated neighborhood who feels your style and aesthetic are a good fit.

2.

We'll facilitate an introduction, and moderate a discussion where you and the merchant can brainstorm your respective visions for the roll-down gate mural, keeping the concept away from advertisements or commissioned works.

3.

You work independently on a sketch or mock up of your artwork to share with us and the merchant.

4.

Once your artwork is approved, we work with you, the NYPD, and the merchant and to arrange installation times outside of the merchant’s hours of operation.

5.

You pick up supplies from our closet, print out your installation paperwork, and purchase your own paint.

6.

You complete a brand new, beautiful mural that brightens the surrounding community and invoice us for your great work upon completion.
