New York City-based artist Roger Ridley was born on the northernmost tip of Manhattan in 1996. While growing up in the Kingsbridge heights section of the Bronx, Ridley developed a unique style of painting incorporating both contemporary and traditional techniques using various mediums such as vintage newspaper/magazine clippings, album jackets, molten wax, gold leaf and spray paint. After his freshman year at college, Ridley put his biotechnology studies on hold to pursue a two-year robotics apprenticeship at a fabrication studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yards, where he continued to hone his innovative yet conventional approach to art.
