Using Public Art to put the Caribbean Experience on the map

CaribBeing and the Flatbush Junction BID welcomes 100 Gates to Brooklyn, the cultural epicenter of NYC’s thriving Caribbean community.  For over 100 years, Caribbean people have settled in Brooklyn, making the borough home to the largest and most diverse Caribbean population in the world.  

Take a dollar van tour down Flatbush Ave. to the Junction where you will  sample some of NYC’s best Caribbean flavours from freshly baked patties to spicy fruit chow, visit  Stay late to sample Caribbean rhum, beer and spirits.

Bringing 100 Gates public art model to the Junction will further enhance Flatbush aka Little Caribbean as a thriving destination for food + art + culture.

Flatbush Nostrand Junction BID

The Flatbush Nostrand Junction BID aims to create a more vibrant commercial corridor by organizing a series of events and initiatives. We also work with local businesses to provide new and expanded services that improve the working and trading environment of the area.

Caribbeing House

The Caribbeing House is an unique multipurpose art/cultural space located in the heart of Little Caribbean NYC. Situated in a sea container with floor to ceiling windows, chic raw interior and bespoke flooring, it is a one-of-a-kind space that reflects the cultural heritage of its surrounding community in one of Brooklyn’s original towns. The CARIBBEING HOUSE is mobile. Current uses include: art exhibitions /curated cultural experiences / pop-up shops / film screenings / book readings / community events.
